Why students choose France

The university and grande école systems offer different admissions processes and qualifications. Compare the exact award and school.

Public fee schedules and institutional exemptions can change the cost substantially for non-EU applicants.

English-taught programmes are available, especially at master’s level; French remains valuable for internships and career development.

Most non-EU student residence holders may work up to 964 hours per year, rather than a simple unrestricted weekly allowance. Algerian nationals have different rules. Study status, employer formalities and permit conditions still apply.

After your degree

Eligible holders of a French master’s or equivalent, or a licence professionnelle, can apply for the one-year job-search/business-creation route. Nationality agreements can provide different arrangements. A general bachelor’s degree does not automatically qualify.
