Why students choose Lithuania

Vilnius and Kaunas offer distinct institution choices and links to technology and engineering.

Published entry-level fees can be relatively accessible, but a minimum fee says little about the price of a specific course.

English-taught degrees can be paired with language learning to improve local integration and work options.

New permits: 20 / 40-hour tiered rules

For new authorisations from 22 May 2026, first- and second-year bachelor’s students are generally limited to 20 hours weekly; later bachelor’s years, master’s and doctoral study can follow the 40-hour rule. Holidays and required placements have exceptions. Older permissions may differ: check your permit date and category.
