English is used across many study routes, while a compact geography can simplify campus exploration.
Study in Malta
English-medium higher education in a small island setting, with academic and vocational routes to compare.
Why students choose Malta
The University of Malta, MCAST and specialised providers serve different academic and applied goals.
Tourism, business and digital services are useful fields to explore; distinguish higher education from short language courses when checking visa rights.

Tuition & living costs
2026 country-guide monthly budget covering accommodation, food, utilities, transport and personal spending. Housing location and choices can raise costs.
Part-time work & careers
Up to 20 hours / week; licence required
Qualifying non-EU students need a Jobsplus employment licence and must meet their study/visa conditions. The general limit is 20 hours weekly. Waiting periods and labour-market tests can apply, especially to lower-level or language-course routes; do not assume permission starts automatically on arrival.
After your degree
Eligible graduates may apply for a residence period of at least nine months to seek employment or set up a business. Actual employment still requires the applicable employment licence and residence conditions.
