Why students choose Malta

The University of Malta, MCAST and specialised providers serve different academic and applied goals.

Tourism, business and digital services are useful fields to explore; distinguish higher education from short language courses when checking visa rights.

Part-time work & careers

Up to 20 hours / week; licence required

Qualifying non-EU students need a Jobsplus employment licence and must meet their study/visa conditions. The general limit is 20 hours weekly. Waiting periods and labour-market tests can apply, especially to lower-level or language-course routes; do not assume permission starts automatically on arrival.

After your degree

Eligible graduates may apply for a residence period of at least nine months to seek employment or set up a business. Actual employment still requires the applicable employment licence and residence conditions.
