Part-time work & careers
Up to 30 hours / week · eligible permits
A qualifying long-duration higher-education study authorisation permits employed or self-employed work automatically when compatible with study, subject to the 30-hour weekly limit and applicable conditions. Other course categories have different permissions. Check your exact residence authorisation before beginning work.
After your degree
Eligible higher-education graduates with at least EQF level 6 can apply for up to 24 months to seek suitable employment or develop a business. This residence route cannot be extended and does not authorise work. A separate qualifying work authorisation is needed to begin employment.
