Why students choose Canada

Co-op and experiential-learning options can help you connect a programme with practical experience; availability differs by course.

Compare provinces as well as universities: language, climate, housing and regulated professions all vary.

Research master’s and professional taught degrees can have very different fee and funding structures.

What these tuition figures coverPreliminary 2026/27 weighted international tuition averages for full-time degree students at Canadian public degree-granting institutions. PG excludes regular and executive MBAs and certain medical residencies. Mandatory fees, living costs and financial aid are separate. Graduate reporting can cover eight or twelve months.
Typical living reference / month · CAD CA$1,954 Housing and daily expenses depend on the city and your choices.

Outside Quebec, the current study-permit funding floor is CAD 23,448 for one year, or CAD 1,954 per month, for applications from 1 September 2026. This is a funding minimum, not an average living cost. Tuition and transport are additional; costly cities can need more and Quebec has separate requirements.

Part-time work & careers

24 hours / week off campus if eligible

Eligible students can work off campus up to 24 hours weekly during regular academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks if all conditions are met. Programme, enrolment status and study-permit conditions matter; language-only and some preparatory programmes are excluded.

After your degree

PGWP eligibility depends on both the institution and the programme, plus current language and, where applicable, field-of-study requirements. Attendance at a DLI alone does not guarantee a PGWP. Check the exact programme before paying a deposit.
